Snickerdoodle cream cheese apple pie

This Snickerdoodle Cream Cheese Apple Pie is a delightful twist on the classic apple pie. The combination of the sweet and tangy apple filling, creamy cream cheese layer, and crunchy snickerdoodle crust creates a truly indulgent dessert.

Ingredients:

  • For the Crust:
    • 1 lb 1.5 oz pouch of Snickerdoodle Cookie Mix
    • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • For the Cream Cheese Filling:
    • 8 oz package cream cheese, softened
    • 1/4 cup sugar
    • 1 tablespoon flour
    • 1 teaspoon vanilla
    • 1 egg
  • For the Filling:
    • 1 1/4 cups apple pie filling, chopped
    • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Crust:
  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9-inch pie plate.
  • In a large bowl, combine the snickerdoodle cookie mix and butter. Use your fingers to work the mixture together until it resembles coarse crumbs.
  • Press the crumb mixture into the bottom and up the sides of the prepared pie plate.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until lightly golden brown.
  1. Make the Cream Cheese Filling:
  • In a medium bowl, beat the cream cheese until smooth.
  • Add the sugar, flour, vanilla, and egg. Beat until well combined.
  1. Assemble the Pie:
  • Pour the apple pie filling into the partially baked crust.
  • Sprinkle with cinnamon.
  • Dollop the cream cheese filling over the apples.
  • Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the filling is bubbly and the crust is golden brown.
  1. Cool and Serve:
  • Let the pie cool completely before slicing and serving.

Tips:

  • For a more intense cinnamon flavor, increase the amount of cinnamon in the filling.
  • You can use fresh apples instead of canned apple pie filling. Simply peel, core, and slice the apples before adding them to the pie.
  • For a richer flavor, add a pinch of nutmeg or cloves to the filling.
  • Serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for a decadent treat.
