Equipment
• 1 large gallon-size zip-top bag
• Measuring cups & spoons
• Baking loaf pan
• Oven
Ingredients
• 3 cups all-purpose flour (or bread flour)
• 3 tbsp white sugar
• 1 packet instant yeast (2 ¼ tsp)
• 1 cup warm water (110°F, not too hot!)
• 3 tbsp vegetable oil
• 1 tsp salt
Instructions
1️⃣ Mix Dry Ingredients in the Bag
In the zip-top bag, add 1 cup of flour, sugar, and yeast. Seal the bag and shake to combine.
2️⃣ Add Wet Ingredients
Pour in warm water and vegetable oil. Reseal the bag and squish everything together with your hands until well mixed. Let sit for 5 minutes to activate the yeast.
3️⃣ Add More Flour & Knead
Add salt and remaining 2 cups of flour into the bag. Seal and knead the dough by squishing the bag for about 5-8 minutes, until the dough forms a ball and isn’t too sticky.
4️⃣ Let It Rise
Open the bag slightly to let air escape, then place it in a warm spot for 30-40 minutes until the dough doubles in size.
5️⃣ Shape & Bake
Preheat oven to 375°F. Remove the dough from the bag and place it in a greased loaf pan. Let it rise another 10-15 minutes.
6️⃣ Bake to Perfection
Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped. Let cool before slicing.
Storage Options
