Applesauce Honey Bread

Ingredients

1¾ cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

½ teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg

½ cup honey

⅓ cup vegetable oil or melted butter

2 large eggs

1 cup unsweetened applesauce

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a standard loaf pan. In a bowl, whisk flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg. In another bowl, mix honey, oil, eggs, applesauce, and vanilla until smooth. Gradually stir dry ingredients into wet just until combined. Pour batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top. Bake for 45–55 minutes, until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.
