Tips for Success
Toast the pecans for extra flavor
Let the bars cool completely before cutting
Use high-quality caramel or melt your own
Ingredients
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 cup unsalted butter, softened
1 cup caramel bits or soft caramels
2 tablespoons heavy cream
1 1/2 cups chopped pecans
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Directions
Preheat oven to 350°F and line a 9×13 baking pan with parchment paper.
In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, and butter until crumbly. Press into the bottom of the prepared pan.
Bake crust for 15–18 minutes until lightly golden.
While crust bakes, melt caramel bits with heavy cream in a saucepan over low heat until smooth.
Sprinkle pecans evenly over the baked crust, then pour caramel over pecans.
Bake an additional 10 minutes.
Remove from oven and immediately sprinkle chocolate chips on top. Let sit 5 minutes, then spread melted chocolate evenly.
Cool completely before cutting into bars.
Additional Tips or Variations
Add a pinch of sea salt on top for a sweet-salty contrast
Swap pecans for walnuts if preferred
Use dark chocolate for a richer flavor
