Ingredients:

For the Filling:

• 2 cups cooked chicken, shredded or diced

• 1 cup frozen peas

• 1 cup diced carrots

• 1/2 cup diced celery

• 1/3 cup butter

• 1/3 cup all-purpose flour

• 1 3/4 cups chicken broth

• 3/4 cup milk

• 1/2 teaspoon salt

• 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

• 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

• 1/2 teaspoon onion powder

For the Crust:

• 1 package (2 sheets) store-bought pie crust or homemade pie crust

• 1 egg (for egg wash, optional)

Instructions:

1. Preheat Oven: Set your oven to 400°F (200°C).

2. Prepare the Filling:

• In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat.

• Stir in flour and cook for about 1 minute to form a roux.

• Slowly whisk in chicken broth and milk, stirring constantly until the mixture thickens.

• Add salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder, then mix in the chicken, peas, carrots, and celery. Remove from heat.

3. Assemble the Pie:

• Roll out one pie crust and fit it into a 9-inch pie pan.

• Pour the prepared filling into the crust.

• Cover with the second pie crust, sealing the edges with a fork. Cut slits in the top to allow steam to escape.

4. Bake:

• Brush the crust with a beaten egg for a golden finish (optional).

• Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown.

• Let it cool for 10 minutes before slicing.
