Chocolate Caramel Puffed Rice Bars

Ingredients

2 cups puffed rice cereal

1 cup soft caramels, unwrapped

2 tablespoons heavy cream

1 ½ cups milk chocolate chips

1 tablespoon butter

Instructions

Line a square baking dish with parchment paper. In a large bowl, add the puffed rice cereal. In a small saucepan over low heat, melt the caramels with the heavy cream until smooth. Pour the melted caramel over the puffed rice and mix until well coated. Press the mixture firmly into the prepared dish and set aside. In another saucepan or microwave-safe bowl, melt the chocolate chips with the butter until smooth. Pour the chocolate over the caramel rice layer and spread evenly. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour, then slice into bars and enjoy. Store in an airtight container in the fridge.
