Classic Creamy Pea Salad
Pea Salad may not be the most common dish at potlucks and picnics these days, often overshadowed by pasta and potato salads. While those classics certainly have their place, it’s time to give pea salad the recognition it deserves. This beloved dish has been a staple for generations, often served by mothers and grandmothers alike, and it’s ripe for a revival.
This salad is incredibly creamy and sweet, featuring delightful pops of salty bacon, sharp red onion, and cubed cheddar cheese. In other words, it’s packed with flavor and takes only about ten minutes to prepare. While it may feel a bit old-fashioned, its nostalgic charm makes it a perfect addition to any modern table. After all, a touch of nostalgia can enhance any meal!

• ½ cup sour cream
• ½ cup mayonnaise
• 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
• 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
• ½ teaspoon salt (plus more to taste)

• 8 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
• ½ medium red onion, diced
• 1½ cups cheddar cheese, cubed small

2. Add the peas, crumbled bacon, diced onion, and cubed cheese to the bowl. Gently stir to coat everything in the dressing.
