Cookout plate with ribs, cowboy beans

Ingredients

  • 1 rack pork ribs (baby back or spare ribs)
  • Salt & black pepper
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 160°C (325°F).
  2. Season ribs with salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  3. Wrap tightly in foil and bake for 2–2½ hours until tender.
  4. Remove foil, brush ribs with BBQ sauce mixed with brown sugar and vinegar.
  5. Broil or grill for 5–10 minutes, turning once, until sticky and caramelized.

  • 1 can pinto beans (drained)
  • 1 can baked beans
  • 150 g ground beef
  • 4 strips bacon, chopped
  • ½ onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • ¼ cup BBQ sauce
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tsp mustard
  • Salt & pepper

Instructions

  1. Cook bacon in a pot until crispy; remove and set aside.
  2. In the same pot, brown ground beef with onion and garlic.
  3. Add beans, BBQ sauce, brown sugar, mustard, bacon, salt, and pepper.
  4. Simmer uncovered for 20–30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
