Easy Butterfinger Balls
Ingredients
For the Balls:
16 oz (2 packages) cream cheese, softened
6 regular-sized Butterfinger candy bars, crushed finely
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
Pinch of salt
For the Coating:
16 oz milk chocolate or semi-sweet chocolate chips
2 tablespoons vegetable shortening or coconut oil
2 Butterfinger candy bars, crushed finely (for garnish)
Instructions
Prepare the Mixture:
In a large bowl, beat softened cream cheese until smooth
Add powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and salt
Mix until well combined
Fold in crushed Butterfinger pieces until evenly distributed
Form the Balls:
Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper
Scoop mixture using a tablespoon or small cookie scoop
Roll into 1-inch balls
Place on prepared baking sheet
Freeze for 30 minutes or until firm
Prepare the Coating:
In a microwave-safe bowl, combine chocolate chips and shortening
Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring between each
Continue until completely melted and smooth
Dip the Balls:
Remove balls from freezer
Using a fork or dipping tool, dip each ball in melted chocolate
Tap off excess chocolate
Place back on parchment paper
Immediately sprinkle with crushed Butterfinger before chocolate sets
Set and Store:
Refrigerate for at least 1 hour until chocolate is completely set
Transfer to an airtight container
Tips
Make sure cream cheese is fully softened for smooth mixing
Keep balls cold while dipping to prevent them from falling apart
Work quickly when dipping to prevent chocolate from hardening
If chocolate begins to thicken, reheat briefly
For easier crushing, freeze Butterfinger bars for 10 minutes first
Storage
Store in airtight container in refrigerator for up to 2 weeks
Can be frozen for up to 3 months
Best served slightly chilled
