Glazed Donut Strawberry Shortcake

A delightful twist on traditional strawberry shortcake using a glazed doughnut. Easy to prepare, yet an impressive dessert! Use store-bought doughnuts or your own glazed doughnut recipe.

When I shared this recipe originally, I was still figuring out this whole blog thing, and I, for some reason, chose to photograph the donuts almost entirely without the strawberries or whipped cream.

So…

It just looked like I was sharing a recipe for cinnamon sugar donuts (which, to be honest, you could totally do here, because, umm, cinnamon sugar rolled anything is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G).

Not going to lie, it was confusing at best.

Once upon a time I was wasting time working on my Instagram feed, scrolling through cheesy pizzas, steaming soup, and chocolatey cookies. (My Instagram feed is full of food. And beaches. It doesn’t get much better than those two things.)

Ingredients
4 Glazed donuts
2 C. Heavy whipping cream
1 tsp. Vanilla extract
½ C. Powdered sugar
1 Quart strawberries sliced

Instructions
Slice the donuts in half horizontally.
In a mixing bowl, combine the heavy whipping cream, vanilla extract, and powdered sugar. Beat on high until soft peaks form.
Place one half of a donut on a plate, top with whipped cream, then a layer of strawberries, more whipped cream, and the other half of the donut on top.
Repeat step 3 with the remaining donuts.
Enjoy!
