Cutting board
Sharp knife
Mixing bowl
Measuring spoons
Spoon or spatula for mixing
Tips for Success
Use firm, crisp apples like Honeycrisp or Granny Smith for the best texture. To prevent browning, toss the sliced apples in a little lemon juice before mixing. Chill before serving for a refreshing touch. Cut ingredients into similar bite-sized pieces for even flavor. Add toppings just before serving to preserve crunch.
Ingredients
2 large apples, cored and chopped
1/2 cup celery, thinly sliced
1/4 cup chopped walnuts or pecans
1/4 cup dried cranberries or raisins
1/3 cup plain Greek yogurt or mayonnaise
1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup
1 teaspoon lemon juice
Salt and pepper to taste
Directions
In a large mixing bowl, combine the chopped apples, celery, nuts, and dried cranberries. In a separate small bowl, whisk together the Greek yogurt, honey, lemon juice, salt, and pepper. Pour the dressing over the apple mixture and gently stir until everything is well coated. Taste and adjust seasoning as needed. Chill for 15–30 minutes before serving, or serve immediately if short on time.
Additional Tips or Variations
Swap the yogurt for sour cream or a vinaigrette if preferred. Add diced chicken or turkey for a protein-packed salad. Use grapes instead of cranberries for a juicier bite. Add a pinch of cinnamon for a warm note. For a vegan version, use dairy-free yogurt and maple syrup instead of honey.
