Study: Drinking Wine is More Important than Exercise to Living Past 90

Researchers visited the chosen participants 2 times a year and conducted numerous neurological and neurophysiological tests.

Drink From The Bottle Or The Glass?

It is really helpful to drink wine often, but you shouldn’t for example drink 1 whole bottle with your dinner. You have to drink it moderately.

The Mayo Clinic claims that people over 65 should drink 1 drink/ People who are under 65 should drink 2 drinks. One standard drink is considered to be 1.5 fluid ounces of distilled spirits, 5 fluid ounces of wine or 12 fluid ounces of beer.

The moderate consumption of alcohol offers these benefits:

Decreases the risk of diabetes

Decreases any chance of ischemic stroke

Decreases risk of any heart disease

Another study researched the connection between the physical activity as well as the negative effects drinking has. The senior author of the study was called Dr. Emmanuel Stamatakis. He gathered different information from Scotland and England. There were 36, 370 participants who were divided into three groups.

One of the groups included people who exercise regularly, the other included people who exercise moderately and the third one included people who weren’t active at all. The people were also examined about the amount of alcohol they consumed.

They followed the people for 10 years. There were 5,735 total deaths. They concluded that hazardous drinking was connected to an increased risk of death in numerous health problems. All of the researches concluded that the risk of death from cancer particularly became increased as the people drank more drinks in 1 week.

Compared to the amount of exercise they did, in people who exercised regularly, the risk of cancer death because of alcohol was wiped off!
