Ingredients:
For the cake:
- 1 box yellow cake mix
- 1 box instant vanilla pudding mix
- 4 large eggs
- ½ cup warm water
- ½ cup vegetable oil
- ½ cup white wine (or apple juice as substitute)
- ½ cup brown sugar
- ½ cup granulated sugar
For the glaze:
- 1 stick (½ cup) butter
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- ¼ cup water
- ¼ cup white wine (or apple juice)
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 175°C (350°F). Grease and flour a bundt pan well.
- In a large bowl, mix cake mix, pudding mix, eggs, water, oil, and wine until smooth.
- Stir in brown sugar and granulated sugar until fully combined.
- Pour batter into prepared pan.
- Bake for 50–60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- While the cake bakes, prepare the glaze:
- In a saucepan, melt butter.
- Add sugar, water, and wine.
- Bring to a gentle boil and cook for 3–5 minutes, stirring constantly.
- Remove cake from oven and while still hot, poke holes all over with a skewer or fork.
- Slowly pour the warm glaze over the cake, allowing it to soak in.
- Let the cake cool in the pan for 15–20 minutes, then invert onto a serving plate.
