These stuffed chicken breasts are overflowing with a cream cheese, bacon and cream of bacon soup filling and coated in crumbled Doritos nacho chips.
These Doritos chicken breasts take just under an hour from start to finish and serve four people.
To make these cream cheese stuffed chicken breasts, I started by dumping some chive and onion cream cheese and Campbell’s condensed cream of bacon soup into a medium mixing bowl.
Ultimate Cheesy Bacon Dorito-Crusted Chicken
Ingredients:
7.5 oz chive and onion cream cheese
10.5 oz Campbell’s condensed cream of bacon soup
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1/2 cup real bacon bits
4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
1 egg
1/2 cup crushed Doritos
Instructions:
Preheat Oven:
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
Prepare Cream Cheese Mixture:
In a medium mixing bowl, combine the chive and onion cream cheese with the condensed cream of bacon soup.
Use an electric mixer to blend until smooth.
Add the shredded mozzarella cheese and bacon bits, stirring well to combine.
Prepare Chicken:
Slice each chicken breast horizontally and open them up like a book.
Spoon the cream cheese mixture onto one half of each chicken breast, then fold the other half over to cover the filling.
Place the stuffed chicken breasts into a greased 9×13 inch baking dish.
Prepare Dorito Crust:
Crack the egg into a small bowl and beat well.
Brush the beaten egg over the tops of the chicken breasts.
Sprinkle the crushed Doritos on top of the chicken breasts, pressing down gently to help them stick.
Bake:
Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 33 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through.
Serve:
Remove the dish from the oven and let the chicken breasts rest for a few minutes before serving.
