BLUEBERRY DUMP CAKE

I have fond memories of my mom’s cherry dump cake growing up. We would come in from playing outside in the summer and she would serve us a bowl with a cold scoop of ice cream on top. It was the greatest summer treat and this blueberry version is just as sweet. Fresh blueberries take on a perfect jammy consistency in the oven as the cake mix turns golden brown and crispy. It’s a fun take on a cobbler with wayyyy less work.

Blueberry Dump Cake is probably the easiest sweet treat to make of all time. Just three total ingredients and a few effortless steps and dessert is served! Make sure to check out my Cherry Dump Cake too!

Once you make this Super Easy Blueberry Dump Cake recipe, you’ll understand (and hopefully agree with) my claim of “the Best Blueberry Dump Cake ever!” The recipe is a hit at EVERY event I take it to. This easy dessert recipe is one to go on your “must-make” list.

Use fresh or frozen blueberries and a box of lemon cake mix to make lemon blueberry dump cake! It tastes just like a homemade cobbler. No mixing or additional bowls needed for this dump cake with blueberries.

Ingredients:
4 cups fresh or frozen blueberries
1/2 cup sugar
1 (18.25-ounce) box yellow cake mix
3/4 cup (6 ounces or 1 1/2 sticks) butter
whipped cream or vanilla ice cream

Tips & Notes
Fresh blueberries will work for this recipe; however, add a bit more sugar because fresh blueberries aren’t always very sweet. You can also try this recipe with fresh or frozen blackberries, strawberries or raspberries – or all three!

Instructions:

1.Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
2.Dump blueberries and sugar into 9-by-13-inch baking dish. Stir together.
3.Sprinkle cake mix over the fruit. Slice butter and distribute over the surface of the cake mix.
4.Bake for 45 minutes to 1 hour (until cake is lightly golden brown and no batter comes out after a toothpick test).
