Chicken Pineapple Kabobs

Kids are so easy to wow when they are young. My kids are actually impressed by how fast I can put my shoes on, and I’m not even trying. They are also very impressed when I put food on sticks for them. Hot dog on a stick? Amazing!

Kabobs are always a fun choice and a great way to celebrate grilling season. These Chicken and Pineapple Kabobs are not only kid friendly, but adults will love them, too. The combo of marinated chicken and charred sweet pineapple is an instant classic, so add these to your repertoire ASAP!

I hope all of you will spend your day sunbathing, barbecuing and eating lots and lots of hot dogs.

We will be at a Dodger game, eating lots and lots of Dodger dogs, of course.

But since that’s a night game, most of our day will consist of these BBQ pineapple chicken kabobs!

Ingredients

3 Tbspsoy sauce

3 Tbspbrown sugar

1 Tbspsesame oil

1/4 tspground ginger

1 tspgarlic powder

8boneless chicken breast, cut into 2″ pieces

1 20 oz can(s)pineapple chunks, drained

1/2 cyour favorite bbq sauce (I love Sunset Gourmet’s sweet & spicy brown sugar bourbon sauce)

How to Make Chicken Pineapple Kabobs

1In a shallow glass dish, mix the soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, ginger, and garlic powder. Stir the chicken pieces and pineapple into the marinade until well coated. Cover, and marinate in the refrigerator at least 2 hours.

2Preheat grill to medium-high heat.

3Lightly oil the grill grate. Thread chicken and pineapple alternately onto skewers. Grill 15 to 20 minutes, turning occasionally, basting with bbq sauce or until chicken juices run clear.
