One most often finds these on the nose or chin: blackheads. Particularly for those with combination skin, they can be constantly annoying. The fight against the little black spots on the face is tough, because they’re incredibly difficult to get rid of. They are most commonly found in the area known as the T-Zone (forehead, nose, chin), because the skin in these regions of the face produce a lot of oil, clogging up the pores.
It is not advisable to try and squeeze blackheads out on your own, because there is a good chance of adding oil and bacteria from your fingers and causing an inflammation. The result is a pimple, exacerbating the problem. However, with two basic ingredients you can create a face mask, with which you can instantly and visibly see improvement. Blackheads will no longer be an issue for you, after a few regular treatments.
1. The Ingredients
To make the blackhead mask you need one sachet of gelatin and milk. If you are vegetarian or vegan, you can use pectin (a plant-based adhesive) instead of the gelatin.
2. Combining
Shake the contents of the gelatine/pectin sachet into a small bowl.
Add 2 tablespoons of milk.

Stir with a spoon until the mixture thickens.
The mask should have the consistency of runny yogurt.
When you’re happy with the consistency, place the bowl into the microwave for 30 seconds. When you take the bowl out of the microwave, check with your finger that the temperature isn’t too hot for your face.
If the temperature is okay, begin applying the mask, avoiding the eyes and mouth. An old, clean cosmetic brush is very useful for spreading the mask over the skin. If you don’t have a brush, you can of course, just use your hands. Leave the mask on for 15 minutes to do its thing.
When the mask is stiff, then it’s dry enough for you to start pulling it off. Be mindful to pull from the outside of the nose towards the bridge so that you have every opportunity to remove the blackheads.
Straight after removing the mask, you can see the results! To soothe your skin, you should use a face moisturiser as gelatin can dry out the skin.
Try it yourself and enjoy a bright and clear complexion!
