Hearty Hamburger Soup

Hearty Italian Vegetable Meat Soup It’s full of chunks of ground beef, lots of vegetables and generous Italian spices. This soup is inspired by Italian vegetable soup which has been a family favorite for over 20 years. A stick to your ribs thick and hearty soup, filling and very good. Easy and quick to make. A family favorite in our house! Serve with fresh biscuits.

At family get-togethers, our children always request this spirit-warming ground beef soup along with a fresh loaf of homemade bread and tall glasses of milk. This hamburger soup has robust flavor, plenty of fresh-tasting vegetables and is easy to make. Hamburger Soup is a quick and easy meal loaded with vegetables, lean beef, diced tomatoes and potatoes. It’s great made ahead of time, budget friendly, reheats well and freezes perfectly.

We serve this easy Hamburger Soup with a fresh green salad and some crusty bread for the perfect meal!

* Ingredients:
° 2 pounds of ground beef

° 4 garlic cloves, minced

° 1 small yellow onion, finely diced, about 1 cup

° 10 medium carrots, thinly sliced, about 4 cups

° 6 celery stalks, thinly sliced, about 3 cups

° 6 cups of water

° 1 16-ounce can diced tomatoes

° 1 can of 28 ounces of crushed tomatoes

° 1 can of 14 ounces of tomato sauce

° 2 teaspoons of dried oregano

° 1 teaspoon of dried basil

° 1/2 teaspoon of dried thyme

° 1 teaspoon of kosher salt to adjust to taste

° 1 teaspoon of freshly ground black pepper

° 1/2 head of chopped green cabbage, about 4 cups

* Instructions :

In the bottom of a large saucepan over medium-high heat, cook and crumble the minced meat with the garlic and onion. When the meat is browned, about 8 minutes, add the carrots, celery and water to the pot. Increase the heat to high and add the diced tomatoes, crushed tomatoes, tomato sauce, oregano, basil, thyme, salt and pepper. Cover with a lid. Once the soup is boiling, stir and reduce the heat to medium; Simmer, uncovered, for about 21 minutes, until the carrots are tender.

Flavor soup & settle the salt as wanted. Add the cabbage. Simmer for a few more minutes, until the cabbage has wilted. summit with cheese, if wanted, only before serving. Enjoy it!
