HOT FUDGE PIE

This Hot Fudge Pie is for all of the baking procrastinators out there. It’s almost Christmas, you know. If you don’t have dessert planned, I’m here to help.

If you bake with any regularity, you probably have everything you need to make this pie. Make a homemade crust or use store-bought. Just be sure to use the best chocolate you have in your pantry.

Great pie for chocolate lovers. Very rich. Easy and delicious! Serve hot with vanilla ice cream and a sprinkling of nuts if desired. I have been baking a lot this week in preparation for my husband’s work holiday party. I was tasked with desserts so there have been a ton of cookies and pies covering the kitchen counters. I wasn’t going to share this recipe today, I was saving it for next week. I actually wasn’t going to post any recipe today but I changed my mind after a certain counter-surfing Goldendoodle apparently wanted this pie for herself. I’m sitting here staring at what’s left of this beautiful Hot Fudge Pie smashed over my kitchen floor, so to console myself I’m going to share the recipe and the pictures I took of it before it was destroyed!

You’ll Need:

1 stick butter, softened
1 c sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
3 Tbsp cocoa powder
1 tsp salt
1/2 c all purpose flour.

How to make it:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Cream together butter and sugar with electric mixer until fluffy, about 3 minutes. Add eggs and vanilla and mix well. Add cocoa powder, salt and flour and stir until well combined. Grease 8 inch pie pan with butter or cooking spray, pour mixture into pie pan. Bake 30 to 35 minutes until center is set.
Hand mix to make it gooey, because if you use a mixer, it will have more of a brownie or cake texture, rather than “gooey”.
