Nougat Recipe -yummy-

Christmas is coming, it cannot be denied, so get into the spirit by baking this delicious almond nougat – then keep them for your guests or package them up as food gifts that everyone will love.

the classic Italian nougat, is easy to make at home. This traditional recipe is scented with honey, orange, and almond flavors, and packed with toasted almonds. As with many egg white-based candies, nougat does not do well in humidity, so try to choose a low humidity day to make this candy. To make great nougat, you really need to have a plan. You have to be legit focused. And(!), consider yourself warned, there are going to be a few minutes when you can’t answer the front door, or even look at your phone – boiling hot sugar is no joke.

I’m going to show you how to make a fluffy, cloud-like, vanilla nougat candy. Because if you’re going to eat candy now and then, it might as well be homemade. You need to read through the recipe in its entirety before starting, so you have a sense of where you’re headed. You’ll also need a candy thermometer.

But it all basically comes down to the temperature you cook the sugar to; because it’s added hot to the egg whites, it ultimately cooks the whites and becomes a foamy white candy into which nuts and fruit are stirred. I love the combination of pistachio, almond, cashew, and cherry, but virtually any toasted nuts or dried fruits can be used.
