Just three ingredients are needed to make these White Chocolate Haystacks; white chocolate, peanuts and pretzels. White chocolate has such a sweet and subtle flavor that complements the saltiness of the peanuts and pretzels. Perfect for gift giving.

White Chocolate has always been the mysterious chocolate, treated differently because according to the FDA, ‘officially’ it is not chocolate at all. That is because ‘chocolate’ must be made of cocoa fat (cocoa butter) and nonfat dry cocoa solids, an ingredient that is not found in white chocolate. So here we are, everyone thinks its chocolate, calls it chocolate, but its really isn’t chocolate, its really “white confectionery coating”. Here is a fun Holiday update to a true classic, the Chocolate Haystack Recipe! We changed it up and added in white chocolate and peanuts along with fun Christmas sprinkles to really make it festive. The kids will love this easy to make treat and adults will get a laugh out of the fun name too.

As I was growing up, my grandma would make the peanut butter version of these every year, and I absolutely loved them. I still do, but recently I’m more inclined to switch them up now and then for this snowy, festive version. Their flavor is a little more simple, they’re a little more straightforward in their sweetness, but the process is just as easy as my grandma’s and they’re every bit as addictive.

INGREDIENTS
2 (12 oz) packages white chocolate chips

1 (5 oz) can crispy chow mein noodles

1/2 cup salted peanuts

Sprinkles, optional

PREPARATION
Line a surface or baking sheet with wax paper.

In a large microwave-safe bowl, microwave the white chocolate chips in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until melted and smooth.

Add the chow mein noodles and peanuts, stirring quickly to coat.
